About

The Association for Executives in Healthcare Information Security (AEHIS) was launched in 2014 in order to provide an education and networking platform to healthcare’s senior IT security leaders.

AEHIS was formed under the auspices of CHIME, the premier professional membership organization for chief information officers (CIOs) and other senior healthcare IT leaders. CHIME leadership heeded a message of concern from members that there was a distinct lack of education and resources geared towards healthcare security executives; AEHIS was designed to address that unmet need in the industry.

OUR VISION

Shaping the transformation of healthcare through the provision of trusted and reliable security environments.

OUR MISSION

Advancing the role of the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) through education, collaboration and advocacy in support of secure health information for the protection of both consumers and healthcare organizations.

AEHIS FAQs

The Association for Executives in Healthcare Information Security (AEHIS) was launched in 2014 in order to provide an education and networking platform to healthcare’s senior IT security leaders.

AEHIS was formed under the auspices of CHIME, the premier professional membership organization for chief information officers (CIOs) and other senior healthcare IT leaders. CHIME leadership heeded a message of concern from members that there was a distinct lack of education and resources geared towards healthcare security executives; AEHIS was designed to address that unmet need in the industry.

AEHIS is the only professional organization focused on supporting the healthcare industry’s security executive community. AEHIS is focused on advancing the role of the CISO through education, collaboration, and advocacy in support of the application of technology to improve healthcare safety and efficiency. We know what your challenges are and we’re here to help you with them.

As data breaches and cyber threats continue to rise, healthcare organizations are increasingly relying on security leaders like yourself to safeguard our industry’s most sensitive information; making education and collaboration essential components to fostering knowledge, solutions and best-practice sharing.

Your membership in AEHIS can help you save valuable time, get up to speed on hot industry topics, and refine your leadership skills.

AEHIS membership is assigned to the individual at a healthcare provider or payer organization who applies and is approved. Membership is not for the organization itself and is not transferable from one individual to another.

AEHIS was created to support the professional needs of CISOs in healthcare. The AEHIS Foundation is a non-profit organization comprised of select healthcare information security vendors and professional services firms.

AEHIS Foundation members benefit from the unique opportunity to partner and collaborate with member CISOs. The support of the AEHIS Foundation allows AEHIS to provide its members with leading edge education, information, and networking opportunities. In return, AEHIS Foundation members have an unprecedented ability to connect with healthcare industry CISOs through AEHIS-sponsored education and events. For more information about the AEHIS Foundation, please visit the AEHIS Foundation section of our website.
