CHIME offers several awards honoring the outstanding efforts and accomplishments of those who have demonstrated leadership, innovation and collaboration through the application of technology in healthcare.
Applications for 2018 awards must be submitted by: July 20th, 2018
Innovator of the Year Award
Eligibility: Awarded to a current CHIME Member CIO
This award recognizes a CIO who has demonstrated value to their respective organization through the creative application of technology in support of their organization’s key and strategic business objective(s). This also acknowledges the creative and innovative application of technology in support of some segment of the healthcare industry (i.e. Provider, Managed Care/Payer, etc).
CHIME Collaboration Award
Eligibility: Jointly awarded to a CHIME Member CIO and CHIME Foundation Firm
The Collaboration Award was designed to recognize a collaborative effort by a CHIME Foundation firm and CHIME member. The award will provide organizational and industry recognition to Foundation firms and CIOs. The co-authored paper should have value for the healthcare IT/IS arena in terms of both the collaborative effort and the overall topic.
CHIME Outstanding Service Award
Eligibility: The recipient must be a CHIME member with a minimum of three years of membership (cannot be a current CHIME Board Member)
This award recognizes a CHIME member CIO who has shown outstanding dedication to the CHIME organization, and the industry, as evidenced by participation in CHIME’s programs, initiatives, and through volunteer service.
CHIME-AHA Transformational Leadership Award
Eligibility: Jointly awarded to a CHIME member CIO and his/her organization’s CEO
CHIME and the American Hospital Association offer this award to acknowledge transformational leadership using IT in healthcare. This award recognizes an organization that has excelled in developing and deploying transformational information technology that improves the delivery of care and streamlines administrative services.
CHIME Foundation Partner Award
Eligibility: Current CHIME Foundation members in good standing
The recognizes the CHIME Foundation organization that has demonstrated exceptional dedication, support, and made outstanding contributions to the healthcare IT industry, CHIME, CHIME Foundation and other CHIME organizations.
CHIME Foundation Industry Leader Award
Eligibility: 5+ years of membership / involvement with CHIME and/or the CHIME Foundation PLUS 20+ years of health IT industry experience
This award recognizes an individual who has demonstrated exceptional dedication and has made an outstanding contribution to the healthcare IT industry, as well as the CHIME Foundation.
Federal Public Policy Award for CIO Leadership
Eligibility:Awarded to a current CHIME Member CIO
This award recognizes a CHIME member CIO who has demonstrated leadership at the Federal level in educating Congress and the Administration on the value of health IT and its role in patient care. Involvement with the PSC, Public Policy Group on myCHIME, a regulatory comment workgroup, National Health IT Week and providing testimony to Federal-level committees are examples of federal level activity.
CHIME-HIMSS John E. Gall Jr. CIO of the Year Award
Eligibility: The recipient must be a CHIME and HIMSS member with a minimum of five years of membership (cannot be a current CHIME or HIMSS Board Member or award judge).
The John E. Gall Jr. CIO of the Year Award recognizes a CIO who demonstrates significant leadership in healthcare. The award is given for a lifetime of success and achievement as a CIO in the healthcare IT industry. The recipient is selected jointly by the Board of Directors of the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) and the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS).
