ABOUT

The Certified Digital Health (CDH) Program is designed for all healthcare professionals looking to or currently serving in the healthcare digital space.  This program is designed to test one’s knowledge and understanding in the larger healthcare IT industry.  The program outlines three levels of certification: Professional, Leader, and Executive.  Based on one’s leadership experience and positional standing will make them eligible for one level of certification testing.  Credentialing is based on meeting the requirements outlined, continuing educational credits, and passing the CDH level examination.

This is a self-paced certification program.  Learners will have access to course content and the exam for 1 year from the time of enrollment.  The CDH qualifying exam will need to be completed within those 12 months.

Exam Study Materials

Upon completed enrollment into the CDH program you will receive a login to access the CDH course within CHIME University. Within this course includes 12 months of access to exam study materials including CDH specific exam blueprint, readings, practice exams, self-scored gap assessment, and study plans to help as you prepare.

  • CDH Exam Blueprints – the CDH Professional, Leader, and Executive program exam blueprints all differ and are specific to each competency level.
  • Reading Materials – a collection of articles and books that comprise the exam.  Each reference provided is a supporting resource for the exam.

Continuing Education Units

CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS (CEUs)

The CDH program requires individuals to participate in professional development and educational activities. CHIME utilizes Continuing Education Units (CEUs) to measure participation.

CHIME recognizes ONE hour of professional development and educational activity participation as equivalent to ONE CEU.

Submitting CEUs

All CEUs should be submitted online using the CEU Form online.

How to Submit CEUs:
♦   Event type, title, description, start/end dates, and CEU amount requested are required.  For credits over 10 CEUs a supporting document is required to validate credit hours.
♦   Archived submissions must include original date in description and date applied in start and end dates
♦   Multiple (up to three) events may be submitted on one form, but all must fall under the same
category, non-CHIME or CHIME type events

Qualifying CEU Opportunities

CHIME Opportunities

– All CHIME University educational offerings

Non-CHIME Opportunities

– Academic teaching, professional speaking engagements
– Publications written
– Conferences, workshops, courses and other educational activities from other organizations
(e.g. ACHE, HIMSS, etc.)

* Completion of college or university courses must be from an accredited institution and topic area related to the healthcare profession. Relevant courses include, but are not limited to: business, accounting, healthcare, marketing, IT/IS, human resources, informatics and healthcare informatics.

^Academic CEUs awarded (both teaching and/or attending as a student) will be determined by multiplying the number of credit hours earned for the course by a factor of 3. For example, if you complete a course that is worth four credit hours, the maximum CEUs you may request is 12 (4 x 3 = 12 CEUs). If you are submitting Academic CEUs for a course that you attended, please submit an official transcript upon completion of the course.

If you need help determining whether an activity qualifies for a CEU or how to calculate the number of CEUs, please email the CHIME certification team at [email protected].

CEU Reports/Transcripts

To view a current listing of your CEU record, please contact the CHIME professional development staff at [email protected]. Requests will be filled within 48 hours.

Transcripts will include your certification date range, a break-down of CHIME credits and non-CHIME credits earned, as well as certification status as indicated by requirements fulfilled.

Activities and/or events that are eligible to receive education credits include: online or in-person educational events, advocacy webinars/meetings, professional committees, and speaking engagements.

CDH holders are required to participate in professional development and educational activities. CHIME utilizes Continuing Education Units (CEUs) to measure participation. The purpose of the CEU is to record and quantify the time participating in relevant professional development and educational activities.

CHIME recognizes one hour of participation as equivalent to one CEU.
