CHIME Applauds 21 Healthcare Organizations Achieving The Highest Level Of Digital Health Excellence

ANN ARBOR, MI, October 12, 2023 – The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) is thrilled to announce a remarkable milestone in the field of digital health. Twenty-one organizations, the most ever in the 24-year history of the Digital Health Most Wired Survey program, met or exceeded the stringent criteria required to be awarded the highest level of recognition in the 2023 CHIME Digital Health Most Wired Survey, Level 10. These achievements signify a groundbreaking commitment to digital health transformation, setting new industry standards for innovation and excellence.

Encompassing submissions from varied types of healthcare organizations to include the digital health profiles of a record-breaking 55,000+ care sites and approximately 40% of US acute care hospitals, the achievement of these 21 healthcare organizations is truly a significant milestone in the realm of digital health. Exhibiting an unwavering commitment to digital health transformation, organizations must demonstrate an exceptional commitment to leveraging digital technology within a visionary corporate strategy, pushing the boundaries of innovation in healthcare and patient care to attain Level 10 recognition.

In addition to the unprecedented number of organizations receiving Level 10 status, a remarkable one-third of participating organizations achieved a Level 9 standing. This percentage represents a notable increase over the previous year, underscoring the growing momentum of digital health adoption, potentially catalyzed by the challenges posed by the ongoing pandemic.

“The CHIME Digital Health Most Wired Survey for 2023 is a testament to the rapid acceleration of digital transformation in healthcare,” said Russ Branzell, President and CEO of CHIME. This survey reflects the progress of leading healthcare providers as they reinvent healthcare. This accomplishment goes beyond information technology—it represents the entire organization’s dedication to enhancing healthcare through the advancement of digital health strategies.”

Beyond the individual achievements of these organizations, the data from the CHIME Digital Health Most Wired Survey highlights a significant acceleration in data usage over the past year. This acceleration underscores the industry’s commitment to harnessing the power of digital technology to drive positive change and enhance healthcare delivery.

The CHIME Digital Health Most Wired survey reflects the remarkable progress made by leading healthcare providers as they redefine healthcare for the 21st century. This achievement transcends information technology and speaks to the collective commitment of these organizations to advance healthcare through digital health strategies.

Each participating organization will receive a customized benchmarking report through their complimentary Digital Health Analytics portal, providing valuable insights into their digital health performance across eight key segments: infrastructure; security; administrative/supply chain; analytics/data management; interoperability/population health; patient engagement; innovation; and clinical quality/safety.

“In a time when healthcare faces challenges such as burnout, financial pressures, and increased competition, it is crucial to collaborate around digital health,” said Aaron Miri, CHCIO, FCHIME, CDH-E, SVP and CDIO at Baptist Health (Jacksonville, FL), a Level 10 recognized organization. “Armed with this incredible data, our digital health leaders are better equipped to address the demands of care staff and consumers, ushering in the disruptive changes needed to improve our healthcare system. This requires connecting disparate data, streamlining clinical workflows, reducing costs, and delivering consumer-oriented, digitally-enabled care.”

CHIME commends these 21 organizations for their extraordinary achievements in digital health and looks forward to continued collaboration and innovation in the ever-evolving landscape of healthcare. A list of the highest-achieving healthcare organizations in level 7-10 presented by category is available here.
