Twenty-Six Organizations Earned Highest CHIME Digital Health Most Wired (DHMW) Recognition Level

Ann Arbor, MI, October 24, 2024 – The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME), the preeminent association for digital health leaders around the world, is thrilled to announce a remarkable milestone in the industry. Twenty-six organizations, the most ever in the twenty-five year history of the Digital Health Most Wired (DHMW) Survey program, met or exceeded the stringent criteria required to be awarded Level 10 designation, the highest level of recognition in the prestigious 2024 CHIME Digital Health Most Wired Survey.

Encompassing submissions across inpatient acute care, long-term post-acute care (LTPAC), ambulatory and community-based care, DHMW assessed the digital health ecosystems of 48,000 care sites. This year, 26 health systems achieved Level 10, a 58% year-on-year increase. Being awarded DHMW Level 10 demands a level of rigor, meaningful adoption, evidence-based outcomes, and stakeholder engagement rarely seen in healthcare.

The DHMW validation presentations completed by the Level 10 recipients demonstrate the strategic value of investment across multiple transformation pillars to deliver the person centric digital health ecosystem. Evidence from the market research study highlights a significant acceleration of sophisticated data science and digital technologies being used to drive insight for positive change in virtually every aspect of the care delivery environment.

“The CHIME Digital Health Most Wired Survey for 2024 is a testament to an even further acceleration of digital transformation in healthcare than we’ve seen in previous years,” said Russ Branzell, President and CEO of CHIME. “While in the last few years we still saw reactive, pandemic related innovation, in 2024 we see that innovation was much more organic, proactive, and incredibly sophisticated. Beyond the individual achievements of these organizations, the data from the CHIME Digital Health Most Wired Survey highlights the organizational, technological and societal compass of leading healthcare providers as they reimagine care across our industry.”

Each participating organization will receive a customized benchmarking report through their complimentary Digital Health Analytics (DHA) portal, providing valuable insights into their digital health performance across eight key segments:

• Infrastructure

• Security

• Administrative/supply chain

• Analytics/data management

• Interoperability/population health

• Patient engagement

• Innovation

• Clinical quality/safety

Today, we find ourselves in an exceptionally dynamic time in healthcare. The sector is grappling with significant challenges, including cybersecurity threats, the rise of generative AI, tight budgets, shifting patient care models, and workforce issues such as burnout and talent retention. The recipients of the DHMW Level 10 designation have showcased exceptional resilience in navigating these complexities, building on the strong foundations established at Level 7 and above, and continuing to advance towards the pinnacle of digital health excellence.

CHIME celebrates these 26 organizations for their exceptional commitment to advancing digital health and their significant contributions to the industry. As we navigate the complexities of today's healthcare landscape, we look forward to fostering innovation and collaboration that will further enhance patient care and outcomes.
