Driving User Adoption for a Healthcare Communication Platform
Event Type: Archived , College LIVE
Nicholas Perkins D.O., Internist, Hospitalist and Physician Informaticist at Greenville Health System
Dr. Perkins of Greenville Health System worked to address the problem every hospital faces: the use of insecure standard text messaging. He knew that the best selected technology is only valuable when users adopt it. As a Physician Informaticist, he evaluated solutions that not only met basic compliance needs but that solved other critical communication gaps around interoperability, availability and user experience. In order to shift users away from non-secure text messaging, the new communication platform had to make work easier and faster for both physicians and nurses.
In this session, Dr. Perkins will share key strategies for improving user adoption that, given the steady “how do we get it” requests by other departments, should prove valuable to any health organization.
- Latest research in informatics for selecting & implementing new technology in healthcare
- Important factors for increasing user adoption
- Valuable metrics to consider when assessing a technology’s success
