Overcoming physician burnout and dissatisfaction of the EHR across an entire healthcare organization is challenging, mainly due to the lack of time providers have to spend training and learning best practices on an on-going basis. As Physician Informaticists, we believe that the most effective strategy to teach to providers EHR efficiency is explaining the “why” behind the each method and best practice. We approach this problem with a peer-based approach: doctors training doctors. On-demand, virtual training that is customized for each specific provider and specialty is how we effectively save providers time, reduce clicks, and prevent burnout. In this focus group, we will discuss our virtual, peer-to-peer efficiency sessions model and how it leads to better outcomes for IT teams, patients, and providers
