The healthcare industry continues to be disrupted. As a healthcare organization, thinking about the needs of your patients in the context of your organization’s goals is critical for future success. We are at a tipping point as an industry where innovation is no longer a nice to have but a must have. The means by which our customers engage with health providers is changing. Because mobile and social applications are ubiquitous, customers demand real-time, exceptional service, convenience and value.
With service, cost-cutting and patient engagement in mind, telehealth and other methods of virtual care have been widely recognized by health care organizations. Despite its benefits, adoption of telehealth has progressed at a slower pace than expected. Some of the barriers are obvious, such as the cost of the technology, a patchwork of confusing state regulations, and reimbursement issues.
In this workshop we will share common pain points, challenges and benefits of telehealth. We will lead discussion on virtual care and how telehealth can be a key element of a holistic digital health strategy to reduce cost, improve access and quality of care and create a differentiated consumer experience.
