The Opioid Crisis Hits Home: Addressing Drug Diversion in Healthcare
The opioid crisis continues to devastate communities and families throughout the nation. In fact, up to 15% of healthcare professionals will abuse drugs during their lifetime.
Unfortunately, many healthcare employees struggling with addiction have direct access to controlled substances at work and will divert drugs intentionally for personal use. In this session, we’ll cover organizational denial, spotting “red flags” of medication diversion, steps to take towards prevention, and building an effective drug diversion monitoring program and culture of compliance in your organization.
