The reality is that training times continue to be reduced while the complexity of topics continues to increase, which often leaves students overwhelmed. In today's information age, classroom training simply is not enough on its own to prepare your staff to perform on the job. Organizations are looking for new solutions that support their staff and increase performance in the flow of work after the classroom training event. To combat the high cognitive load of training today, many organizations are implementing performance support tools. They are expanding their training ecosystems to ensure that the training they create is available to support people where they are applying their skills and knowledge. Learning Objectives:
    • Define the need for a performance support strategy
    • Identify critical elements that learners want from their performance support program
    • Review desired features of performance support software

The opioid crisis continues to devastate communities and families throughout the nation. In fact, up to 15% of healthcare professionals will abuse drugs during their lifetime. Unfortunately, many healthcare employees struggling with addiction have direct access to controlled substances at work and will divert drugs intentionally for personal use. Consequently, drug diversion is a serious problem for hospitals and health systems in the U.S., and 95% of all incidents of drug diversion go undetected. In this session, we’ll cover organizational denial, spotting “red flags” of medication diversion, steps to take towards prevention, and building an effective drug diversion monitoring program and culture of compliance in your organization. Learning Objectives:
    • Diversion “red flags” – what you should monitor and look for
    • Steps to take towards prevention
    • Building an effective drug diversion monitoring program and culture

Organizations often face a situation where they are not fully utilizing software applications and often turn to additional applications to help bridge a perceived gap. Additionally, through mergers and acquisitions, an organization inherits the applications from both sides of the M&A activity. This can lead to redundant applications being in an environment, applications not using their fullest functionality, and outdated legacy applications persisting throughout the organization. This situation results in increased costs, security risks, and non-optimal end-user experiences. For these reasons, Application Rationalization is becoming an increasingly important project for organizations – a project often resulting in cost savings in excess of the project itself. Learning Objectives:
    • What is Application Rationalization?
    • What is the best approach for an Application Rationalization project?
    • What are some key outcomes from an Application Rationalization project?

Behind only search engines, health system websites and health plan websites are the second and third most common resources people turn to when searching for care online. However, there is often variation between them in terms of the richness and accuracy of provider information available, as well as the opportunities people have to schedule appointments once they’ve found a provider. This can result in a confusing and fragmented patient journey. What if health systems and health plans could better connect provider data sources and scheduling processes to empower people more in their care decisions and streamline access? Kyruus and HealthSparq recently announced they are joining forces to build those very bridges and facilitate novel collaboration between payers and providers. Come learn how your organization can enhance its digital offerings and be part of the next wave of transformation in how people navigate care. Learning Objectives:
    • Understand trends in how people select providers and how their digital expectations are evolving
    • Identify opportunities for payers and providers to link their digital access experiences and deliver online scheduling convenience
    • Obtain insights on new ways to foster interoperability and cohesion in your digital technology stack

Challenges of interoperability continue to plague our healthcare ecosystem in more ways than one. The impact of this was (and continues to be so) on display as the COVID 19 recently unfolded with struggles to access patient data for better research and response. The latest and one of the brightest attempts is the one that came out recently as The Interoperability and Patient Access final rule from CMS and as Cures Act Final Rule from Office of National Coordinator (ONC). These rules try to address the age-old debate of healthcare data ownership through the lens of data access and interoperability. This also has potential to unlock healthcare data to better achieve the triple aims of healthcare – addressing per capita cost, experience of care and population health. Learning Objectives:
    • Meeting the requirements of the rules from CMS and ONC – challenges and opportunities
    • Future EMRs, HIEs and integration engines in the API world
    • Accelerated digital transformation with more and better data access
