Ransomware is no longer just malware that freezes your files as soon as an employee clicks a malicious link. The criminals are evolving their software, and healthcare organizations should understand the continuum of operational impact. In this webinar, you’ll learn about the different effects of ransomware, how to prepare for each one, and why the most insidious ransomware is sometimes stoppable after it gets into the network. Join long-time Healthcare CIO Drex DeFord, author of the 2020 Healthcare Breach Report and CI Security’s Chief Technology Officer Mike Simon, to learn about the evolution of ransomware. Learning Objectives:
    • Learn to understand the behaviors of ransomware, the differences in their impact on healthcare organizations.
    • Understand best practices associated with dealing with ransomware, and why and how quick detection can be the difference between success and failure.
    • Learn challenges associated with developing a good incident response plan, and the need for agility in detecting and responding to a potential breach.

    Event Information

Landmark interoperability regulations were finalized this spring and the first information blocking compliance deadline is right around the corner. The pandemic has diverted significant attention away from these policies placing added burdens on healthcare provider compliance. While the anticipation was that 2020 would be spent learning and preparing for these new mandates, much of this time has been eviscerated by COVID-19. Based on CHIME polling data, many members are not prepared for the pending interoperability compliance deadlines and have not absorbed the complexity of these new policies. This webinar will provide a 101 overview to help acclimate CIOs to these pending mandates and give strategies to begin preparing, as well as tips for executing on the use of FHIR to boost interoperability and patient engagement.

2020 has been a year defined by new risks and heighten challenges. The bandwidth of front line workers stretched thin; the speed of vaccine trials defied; and the traditional limits of network security tested by cyber-criminals. Enter Zero Trust. As security leaders struggle to quite literally “verify” if a Zero Trust model holds weight in their organization, we sit down with current CISOs and Senior Architects for an opinionated reality check. How can we decouple the promise of today’s advancements in security technology with yesterday’s legacy applications? Will flipping our security model upside down work in the cloud? And will Zero Trust be the long-awaited cure for data hygiene issues. Learning Objectives:
    • How to verify if a Zero Trust model holds weight your organization.
    • How to integrate Zero Trust in a new cloud or hybrid IT model.
    • How to cure data hygiene issues with a Zero Trust architecture.

By 2025, approximately 68% of medical devices will be connected or connectable to health system networks, raising a new and complex set of challenges as health systems set out to defend those devices from cyberthreats. The urgency is immediate and growing: health systems face a staggering increase in cyberattacks, further exacerbated by the chaos of COVID-19, and many are struggling to swiftly adjust strategy, best practices, and operational planning to reflect this new reality. This session will discusses the challenges healthcare systems face when protecting connected or connectable devices against cybersecurity threats and the key components of a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy Learning Objectives:
    • Define the unique challenges health systems and other provider organizations face when protecting connected or connectable medical devices from cyberthreats
    • Identify the key components of a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy
    • Develop an understanding of how understanding a device’s cyber risk is a key part of a comprehensive clinical asset management strategy

Claims-based analytics drive many organizational initiatives from strategic planning to improving provider alignment to practice acquisition. But claims data is inherently imperfect. Different data sources have different imperfections, causing significant analysis gaps due to incomplete, transposed, or simply missing information. Insights from a limited data set full of imperfections undermine your organization’s ability to achieve bottom line results. Hear how new data science techniques not only merge your data into a de-identified third-party dataset but take a patient-centric view that rectifies the imperfections of raw claims. The result is a more accurate and complete overall patient claims story that better captures the utilization and leakage issues driving your growth strategy. Learning Objectives:
    • Explore provider activity and referral behaviors across your market by payer category, payer name, and, where possible, plan name
    • Merge your data with de-identified, curated claims datasets
    • Use data science techniques to address imperfections inherent in claims data

    • Session Speaker(s):

Toby Gouker, PhD CISO, First Health Advisory Carter Groome, CEO, First Health Advisory

    Event Information

ONC and CMS final rules have been overshadowed since their arrival earlier this year. Compliance and enforcement deadlines help guide interoperability initiatives, yet more ambiguous privacy and security considerations must be addressed as well. Your organizations risk appetite in areas such as API's and determining organizational positioning on information blocking will be a key element in determining how best to provide patients with the ability to access and share their health data contained in EHR's and other connected health assets while using smartphones and other devices. Learning Objectives:
    • High level review of ONC and CMS final rules related to privacy and security.
    • API's and data governance with applications providers not covered by HIPAA
    • Security and privacy related to information blocking
