    The CHIME Executive Education series has been crafted to provide CIO Boot Camp graduates and experienced CIOs to come together in a seminar environment through intense collaborative learning. In this series, attendees learn through multiple case studies from experienced faculty as well as a master case representing a current problem they face in their organization today.

    The series is held at the CHIME Intermountain Innovation Center and leverages advanced presentation and participation technologies to enhance the learning environment. Study teams of 3-5 attendees work with an experienced IT executive serving as a Faculty coach over the course of three days.

    This version of the series focuses on Advanced Healthcare IT Strategy. Content areas include: Business Relationship Management, Innovation & Value Delivery, and Technology & Tool Integration. Attendance is limited to 20 leaders in order to support a rapid learning environment and deep education experience. Participation in the series is currently limited to members of CHIME, AEHIS, AEHIT, and AEHIA, and their direct reports (including Affiliates). CHIME Foundation representatives are not eligible to attend.

    Attendees are eligible to earn up to 16 CEUs.

  • Hotel Reservations and Location Information

    The June 2020 Executive Series programs will be held at the CHIME/Intermountain Innovation Center in Murray, Utah.

    Hotel Reservations:

    A block of rooms has been reserved for the attendees of this program at the Residence Inn, very near to the Innovation Center in Murray, Utah.

    To secure the discounted room rate of $129.00 (single/double) per night, you may book your hotel reservations online. Or telephone the hotel reservations department at 801-262-4200 to make your reservation.  Currently additional charges include room tax of 13.37%.

    The reservation cut-off is May 12, 2020. Reservations received after the cut-off will be on a space-available basis only.  Rooms fill QUICKLY be sure to make your reservations EARLY!

     Cancellation:  Should you need to cancel your reservation, you must do so no later than the 1 week prior to date of your arrival. Due to the low rate offered hotel cancellations received after this date will be accessed a full penalty for the entire reservation.

     Location and Transportation:

    The Residence Inn is located approximately 13 miles or a 15-minute drive from Salt Lake City International Airport.

  • Registration Information

     Registration fees and payment:

    The early registration fee for this session is $2,595.00. Due the highly interactive nature of this program, space is limited to a maximum of 20 participants.

    The standard registration fee of $2,995.00 will go into effect on May 4, 2020.

    The registration fee includes all program materials as well as all networking events. 

    Cancellation Policy

    Registrants who cancel before May 4, 2020 will be issued a full refund of their registration fees. Registrants who cancel on or after May 4 and before May 18, 2020 will be assessed a $1,000 non-refundable cancellation fee.

     Due to the limited capacity of this program, no refunds will be made for cancellations received on or after May 18, 2020.

    Rod Dykehouse

    About Rod


    Rod Dykehouse joined Penn State Hershey Medical Center and College of Medicine as CIO in July, 2012. Annually, Penn State Hershey Medical Center admits nearly 30,000 patients and provides care for approximately 1,100,000 outpatient and 70,000 emergency-service visits in central Pennsylvania. Penn State Hershey Medical Center has over 10,000 employees and 400 volunteers, and the College of Medicine enrolls 800 students annually. The Penn State Health System was formed in 2016 with the addition of Penn State Health St. Joseph Hospital in Reading, PA. Rod was named the CIO for the Health System, which together with the College of Medicine represent approximately $2B in net revenues.

    As CIO, Rod Dykehouse is responsible for the effective deployment, adoption, use, and support of information technologies across the entire clinical, academic and research enterprise. Since 2012, the following has been accomplished:

    – Established IT Governance process across the enterprise, representing the clinical, research and academic missions – Deployed the ambulatory EMR is across all clinic locations for approximately 1,000 Medical Group providers
    – Gained budget and design approval for a newly activated $54M 3MW Tier 2+ Data Center with a second one located on the PSU main campus to serve as a DR site
    – Developed i2b2 research database to leverage EMR and other data – Initiated strategy and execution of Enterprise Information Mgmt “Data” strategy
    – Supported the opening of the new Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital
    – Supported the acquisition and integration of St. Joe’s Reading Hospital
    – Establishing an IT Shared Service Team to support the growing Health System

    Rod has extensive experience as a CIO in both academic medical centers and large health care systems. He previously served as CIO for both UCLA Medical Sciences, and Froedtert Health System, an academic partner of the Medical College of Wisconsin. At UCLA, Rod oversaw IT for the organizations’ medical centers, faculty practice groups and schools of medicine, including IT support for research initiatives. His CIO experience with large health systems was with St. John Health System in Detroit, Michigan, and ProHealth Care in Waukesha, Wisconsin.

    Rod is an active member of CHIME, having served on the CHIME Board and CHIME Foundation Board, including as Chair for both. He was awarded the CHIME Federal Public Policy Award for CIO Leadership, serves on the Policy Steering Committee, is a CHIME Fellow and faculty member of the CHIME CIO Boot Camp.

    Rod holds a master’s degree in health administration from the University of Michigan and a bachelor’s degree from Kalamazoo College. He has more than 25 years of experience in IT management. He is also a lecturer for the Penn State Master of Public Health program.


    Marc Probst

    CHCIO, Chief Information Officer, Intermountain Healthcare

    About Marc

    Marc Probst is the CIO and VP at Intermountain Healthcare, an integrated delivery network (IDN) based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Probst is nationally recognized as a CIO and served on the Federal Healthcare Information Technology Policy Committee which assisted in developing HIT Policy for the U.S. Government.

    Probst has been involved with information technology and healthcare services for the past 32 years. Prior to Intermountain, Probst was a partner with two large professional service organizations; Deloitte Consulting and Ernst & Young, serving healthcare provider and payer organizations. He has significant interest in the use of information technology to increase patient care quality and lower the costs of care. He is experienced in information technology planning, design, development, deployment and operation, as well as policy development for HIT related issues.

    Probst serves or has served as a board member of several healthcare related organizations including the University of Utah School of Nursing, CHIME and the Utah Food Bank. He is a frequent speaker on health information system strategy, innovation, analytics, standards and policy. Probst has a passion for the power of HIT for public and population health within the United States and for health improvement worldwide.


    George Reynolds

    MD, MMM, CHCIO, CHIME Clinical Informatics Executive Adviser (Program Director)

    About George

    George Reynolds, MD, retired in 2015 from Children’s Hospital & Medical Center in Omaha, Neb.,where he served as the CIO and CMIO. He now advises healthcare organizations on a range of healthcare IT initiatives including analytics and data governance, population health management, patient and physician engagement, and IT governance. He has a special interest in helping organizations develop efficient, lean project leadership and staffing.

    He is board certified in Clinical Informatics, Pediatric Critical Care and General Pediatrics. Prior to his transition to the CIO role, he directed the PICUs at Children’s and the Nebraska Medical Center. He also holds a master’s degree in Medical Management from Carnegie Mellon University. He has been recognized as Healthcare Informatics’ Innovator of the year for Children’s Analytics program, as well as the AMDIS Award in Applied Medical Informatics. Modern Healthcare named him one of the 25 top Clinical Informaticists and Becker’s Healthcare included him in their 25 CMIOs to know list.


    Donna Roach

    About Donna

    Donna Roach is the Vice President for Information Services at BJC HealthCare and Washington University Medical School.  She is responsible for the executive management of Epic and its integration with the 15 BJC Hospitals and medical practices, in addition to the 2200 physician member Washington University Medical School Faculty Practice Plan and affiliated practices. 

    With more than 35 years’ experience in the healthcare industry, Roach has focused on healthcare information technology for the past 30 years. Before joining BJC and WashU Medical School she was with Ascension Information Services, serving as the Chief Information Officer in the St. Louis corporate office, the Gulf Coast, Kansas, Michigan and New York. Prior to this, she held the CIO role at Bronson Health in Kalamazoo, Michigan and Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, Illinois.

    Roach earned her Bachelor of Science Degree, Health Administration, from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and her Master of Science in Health Systems Management from Rush Medical College in Chicago. She completed her Fellowship at the Veterans Administration, Chicago.

    Roach is a Certified Healthcare Chief Information Officer, a Fellow within the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives and Healthcare Information Management Systems Society and served on the Board for the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives. Previously, she was the President of the Michigan Chapter of Healthcare Information Management Systems Society and Chair for the Michigan Hospital Association Technology Board.

    She has taught at the University of Illinois – Circle Campus, Rush Medical College, Department of Health Systems Management, and UCONN, Health Administration.


    Tim Stettheimer

    PhD, FCHIME, CHCIO, VP, Education – CHIME

    About Tim

    Timothy Stettheimer, PhD, is Vice President of Education for the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME), a 2,400-plus member professional organization.  In this role, Dr. Stettheimer leads all education strategy for members and affiliate associations, as well as international efforts. Education initiatives include CHIME’s Fall and Spring Forums, CIO Bootcamps, Leadership Academies as well as other summits, workshops and symposia.

    Dr. Stettheimer has previously served as a healthcare CIO for two decades and has worked with healthcare information technology and healthcare leaders for twenty-five years.  He most recently served as the Regional Chief Information Officer (RCIO) for the South and Central Region of Ascension Information Services (AIS), which is made up of seven geographic markets as well as all senior living locations and all medical groups. As RCIO, Dr. Stettheimer was the regional leader responsible for AIS service delivery and technology visioning. He also guided governance models, served on Ascension-level committees, and supported diverse AIS functions such as goal sponsorship, compensation committee efforts, IT general control oversight, infrastructure governance, and AIS Model Community Survey action planning.

    Prior to his Ascension role, Dr. Stettheimer served as the Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer for St. Vincent’s Health System, Birmingham. In this role, he was responsible for managing the Health Ministry’s technology strategy, portfolio, and operations, while serving as the Health Ministry’s technology service delivery senior escalation point. He has also served in leadership roles at Adventist Health System and Children’s Medical Center of Dallas.

    Dr. Stettheimer earned a doctorate in information services focused in medical informatics, information theory and design, and information policy and management from the University of North Texas in Denton. He holds a master’s degree in applied cognition and neuroscience from the University of Texas in Dallas and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas. Dr. Stettheimer is a fellow with both the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) and the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (FCHIME). He is a member of the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA), holds the Certified Healthcare CIO (CHCIO) credential, is a certified professional in healthcare information management systems (CPHIMS), and is a member of the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS). He served as a fellow through a National Institute of Health grant during his doctoral studies. Dr. Stettheimer has held faculty positions with the University of North Texas and the University of Alabama at Birmingham and serves on a number of non-profit boards.

    Dr. Stettheimer has earned the Certified Healthcare CIO distinction from the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME). He also served as the CHIME 2010 Board Chair, the 2011 CHIME Foundation Board Chair and the 2013-1014 CHIME Education Foundation Board Chair. Dr. Stettheimer and his wife Carol live in Birmingham, AL and are the parents of four children.
