Description

The Innovator of the Year Award recognizes CHIME members who have made a significant impact within their organizations by leveraging technology in innovative ways to achieve key strategic business goals. This award celebrates creativity in solving complex challenges and driving meaningful change within the healthcare industry.


Recipients of this award are not only recognized for their accomplishments but also provide an opportunity for their solutions to be shared with the broader CHIME community. By sharing these innovations, CHIME fosters a culture of collaboration, enabling other healthcare organizations to apply similar solutions to improve their operations.


The award highlights the transformative use of technology across various sectors of the healthcare industry, including providers, payers, and more, showcasing how digital tools can be harnessed to advance care, efficiency, and outcomes.

Eligibility

The recipient must be a CHIME member with a minimum of three years of membership (cannot be a current CHIME Board Member)

Criteria

  1. There must be a direct correlation between the IT initiative and accomplishment of a documented organizational objective.
  2. Achieved benefits from initiative must be quantifiable and sustained.
  3. Concept must be transportable and have application to other healthcare organizations.
  4. Accomplishment must have written acknowledgment from the organization’s CEO and or representative of the Board of Directors.
  5. The IT initiative must have been completed within two years of the submission date for the award.

Documentation

To be considered for this award, applicants must submit:


A 5 Part Project Description:


  1. Part 1 – A description of the IT initiative
  2. Part 2 – A listing of the specific, quantifiable benefits obtained from the IT initiative and how this initiative has been sustained at your organization
  3. Part 3 – A description of why this project is innovative for your organization
  4. Part 4 – An explanation of how this project in linked to your organization’s Strategic Plan
  5. Part 5 – A description of how this initiative would be transportable to other healthcare organizations.


In addition, please provide a letter of support from their CEO describing how this innovation has changed the organization.
