MEDITECH recognized as Best in KLAS for the 11th consecutive year

February 5, 2025 | Expanse remains a consistent Top Performer in all segments ranked.

MEDITECH Expanse continues to earn KLAS’s highest honors, demonstrating its strong and consistent commitment to customer satisfaction in the global research firm’s “2025 Best in KLAS: Software & Services Report.

This year, MEDITECH ranked #1 in the newly combined Acute Care EHR & Patient Accounting (Small 1-150 Bed) segment. This is the 6th consecutive year MEDITECH Expanse has led in the Small Acute Care EHR (or Community Hospital) segment. It’s also the second year in a row that MEDITECH’s Patient Accounting solution was recognized, previously ranking #1 in the 2024 Patient Accounting & Patient Management (Small - 1-150 Beds) segment.

“Our customers play a critical role in the delivery of healthcare, often caring for the most vulnerable populations,” said MEDITECH Executive Vice President and COO Helen Waters. “All healthcare organizations, no matter their size, deserve a leading, intelligent, and sustainable EHR that enables them to maintain their independence while personalizing care and outreach to best serve the needs of their communities. We are proud to be recognized as a Best in KLAS vendor for 11 consecutive years. This recognition is a testament to our customers’ success across healthcare organizations of all types and sizes, from critical access to large multi-entity healthcare systems.”

She adds, “We remain dedicated to transforming the industry and unwavering in our commitment to addressing some of its most urgent challenges, such as fiscal sustainability, health and tech equity, and especially interoperability — by eliminating unnecessary barriers to data sharing across all vendor EHRs.”

MEDITECH saw significant growth in the community market space in 2024 due to its offering of flexible and scalable solutions like its MEDITECH as a Service model for Expanse, which saw a 21% growth in 2024.

However, MEDITECH’s success extends well beyond the small acute care market, as several multi-entity health systems across the globe have recently turned to MEDITECH Expanse to meet their innovation needs — including a three-trust university health collaborative in the UK totaling nearly 2,000 beds. 2025 marks the 4th consecutive year MEDITECH has secured a top-two position in the Overall Health System Suite rankings. Additionally, MEDITECH Expanse continues to be ranked a top performer in all segments in which the solution has been rated, including Acute Care EHR & Patient Accounting Midsize (151- 400 Beds), Ambulatory EHR (Health System Owned), and Practice Management (Health System Owned).

Flexibility, partnership, value, and a comprehensive and competitive solution are a few of the many benefits MEDITECH Expanse users cited in recent KLAS survey responses.

One CIO states, “Value is truly important to us to enable us to serve the underserved population. Expanse Acute Care EHR provides a great experience for our clinicians to deliver care at a reasonable cost. I definitely would recommend it to anyone because of the value we receive.” (Sep 2024).

Another VP/Other Executive acknowledges, “MEDITECH does a great job. We would like to think that we had high expectations to begin with because we went through a careful selection process before going with MEDITECH. With EHRs in general, MEDITECH's system is as competitive and easy to use as an Epic or Cerner EHR. We get feedback as we are training providers who have worked on those other platforms, and there are not any needs that the system doesn't meet. MEDITECH's system is comprehensive.” (Feb 2024)

Others appreciate the autonomy to personalize their experience, with one CMIO stating, “The widgets in Expanse Acute Care EHR are a strength. The widgets pull the data I want to know about specific patients as I make rounds, so I don't have to look through all the data to find the data points that I am most concerned about.” (Mar 2024).

"Congratulations to the 2025 winners of the Best in KLAS awards! Winning a Best in KLAS award signifies a commitment to delivering outstanding value and innovation to healthcare providers and patients alike. It is my hope that these awards inspire the winners and other companies to reach new heights,” said KLAS CEO Adam Gale.

MEDITECH and its customers will showcase their latest innovations and successes over the next month at several industry conferences, including ViVE (Booth #2126), HIMSS (Booth #972), and AHA Rural.
