The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) is the premier professional organization for senior-level digital health leaders worldwide. AEHIS, AEHIT and AEHADA were formed under the auspices of CHIME in 2014. CHIME leadership heeded a message of concern from members that there was a distinct lack of education and resources geared towards healthcare security, technology and application executives; these groups were designed to address these unmet needs in the industry.

The Benefits of CHIME Membership
CHIME members are the highest-ranking IT executives within their organizations or facilities. They typically oversee their organization’s information services department and chair the IT steering committee. Additional responsibilities often include telecommunications, medical records, and health informatics.
Our diverse membership represents various provider organizations, including large hospital systems, community hospitals, for-profit hospitals, small or rural hospitals, long-term care facilities, and critical access hospitals. In addition to CIOs from hospitals, CHIME welcomes all CIOs who are employed by organizations with responsibility for direct patient care, including physician practice groups, clinics, radiology groups, as well as relevant government agencies and organizations that exchange healthcare information at the regional or state level.

As a vital part of the CHIME ecosystem, the Foundation is a non-profit organization that enables this synergy, bringing together its membership—select healthcare IT vendors and professional services firms—with CHIME’s provider members. The CHIME Foundation provides and participates in educational initiatives and programs that serve the professional development needs of CHIME and CHIME Foundation members. These initiatives and partnerships advance the strategic and innovative applications of healthcare information technology.
Unlocking Quality Education for the Next Generation of Digital Health Leaders
CHIME established the CHIME Education Foundation to empower tomorrow’s digital health leaders with the expertise necessary to drive the profound changes that are critical to shaping the future of healthcare. The Education Foundation provides scholarships and tuition assistance to CHIME members and future CIOs for attendance at a variety of educational conferences, events, and professional development programs.
All scholarships are provided by the CHIME Education Foundation. The Foundation’s Scholarship Committee reviews all applications and selects all scholarship winners.
